To enable us to carry out our various projects, we have the support from a number of organisations, to whom we are very grateful. Without this support, we would not be able to collect the valuable data, necessary to study, protect and save our native birds.
National Museums Northern Ireland and the Centre for Environmental Data and Recording - For the 2016 and 2017 ringing seasons CEDaR have kindly covered some of the cost of nets, rings and other ringing equipment through their Environmental Recorders' Group Fund. The ERG Grant Scheme is in place to encourage biological and geological recording in Northern Ireland with priority given projects which support the objectives of the NI Biodiversity Strategy.
For more information, see the website - https://nmni.com/home.aspx & https://nmni.com/CEDaR
The Honourable The Irish Society - For the 2015 ringing season, The Honourable The Irish Society have been fantastic and supported us financially in covering the cost of some 1700 rings. The Society has a great presence in the county and across Northern Ireland, in supporting small charitable groups and organisations, covering anything from education to cross community projects, making around 100 grants each year.

For all our different ringing sites we have a number of groups/organisations to thank. That is not just for permission to ring there but also for vehicle access, habitat management and allowing us to put up nest boxes

In terms of licensing we have a number of groups/organisations to thank. The British Trust for Ornithology, who run the ringing scheme, for our permits and ringing endorsements. The Northern Ireland Environment Agency for schedule 1 licenses and permissions to ring in ASSI/SACs. The National Parks and Wildlife Service for our licenses to ring in the Republic of Ireland and who supply boat access to the Sandwich Tern colony. The Forest Service in Northern Ireland for permissions and access to many of the local forests and who also allow us to put up nest boxes.
